The clear lines and historic boundaries that once separated broadcasting, cable, telephone and Internet communication are no more. A natural convergence
of industries and information technologies have blurred those lines beyond recognition. The main driving force behind such convergence is the Internet
and the digitalization of media and information technology. Today’s media and telecommunication companies are attempting to offer the strategic goal of
one-stop-shopping, whereby, customers will be offered a whole host of voice, data and video products via an electronic supermarket to the home. The future will allow for the full integration of information and entertainment services and give new meaning to the term programming.
